Queensland Roar FC v Palmeiras FC

Almost 13,000 Queenslanders turned out at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday 12 July for a special anti-racism preseason football match between Queensland Roar FC and Palmeiras.

Queensland Roar FC will now retain the Translink Cup, beating the Brazilian side Palmeiras 3 – 1 as part of the Queensland Roars Against Racism Campaign.

Match day entertainment included a celebrity curtain raiser where the likes of Justin Hodges, Marcus Graham, Ditch Davey, Andre Moore, Loretta Ryan, and Big Wal joined forces to give racism the boot.

The day offered something for everyone with a plethora of Brazilian themed entertainment on offer ranging from samba lessons to capoeria performances on both concourses, a celebrity match and the international game between Queensland Roar and Palmeiras.
