Multicultural policy review

Community consultation

The Queensland Government is reviewing its multicultural policy and would like to hear your views and ideas about future directions for multiculturalism in Queensland.

A discussion paper, A multicultural future…for all of us, has been published as part of the review process.

Community consultation will occur between October 2009 and March 2010 and will include eForums and community workshops throughout the state.

About the discussion paper

The discussion paper provides information about Queensland's current multicultural policy and the following principles:

The paper seeks feedback about how the government can deliver services, engage with diverse groups and work with communities to achieve more equitable outcomes for all Queenslanders.

It includes questions about:

How to have your say

  1. Read the discussion paper and complete the survey

    You can download a copy of the discussion and response papers or request to have the papers mailed out to you by calling 13 13 04.

  2. Make a submission

    Submit your survey by:

    Please advise the operator if you need an interpreter.

    All submissions must be received by 26 March 2010.

  3. Attend a community workshop

    You can attend a community workshops held in Brisbane, Inala, Logan, Caboolture, Toowoomba, Hervey Bay, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns and the Gold Coast.

  4. Participate in an online forum

    Have your say on an eForum now.

Interpreting Services

If you would like to give your views and opinions in your own language, please telephone Multicultural Affairs Queensland on 13 13 04 and ask for an interpreter. Wherever possible, we will engage an interpreter to obtain your feedback.
